I80 Over Idlewood Rd

Shoulder Widening Project

Lee Construction was tasked with enhancing the safety and capacity of a critical section of I80 over Idlewood Rd by widening the roadway shoulder for approximately one mile. This project required the import of 20,000 cubic yards of material, as well as the placement of 10,000 tons of granular sub-base. The work not only involved precise grading and material handling but also ensured that the expanded shoulder met the Iowa DOT’s stringent safety and durability standards. This improvement will provide a more stable and secure driving experience for motorists while accommodating increased traffic flow for years to come.

Woodsonia Development – Commercial and Residential Lots

Earthwork and Embankment Project

Lee Construction played a critical role in the development of the Woodsonia project, which included both commercial and residential lots. Over the span of 9 months, the team expertly moved 1,000,000 cubic yards of embankment, transforming the site into a ready foundation for future growth. This large-scale earthwork required precision, careful planning, and efficient execution to meet the project’s demanding timeline. The work laid the groundwork for what will become a thriving development, providing space for both businesses and homes to flourish.

Roadway Realignment

Page County IDOT Project – 265th St. Realignment

Earthwork and Culvert Installation

For the Iowa Department of Transportation, Lee Construction executed the realignment of 265th St. in Page County. This extensive project involved the precise movement of 110,000 cubic yards of embankment to ensure a smooth transition and improved road infrastructure. A significant aspect of the work was the installation of a 1,300-foot, 144-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) culvert, with each section weighing a massive 48,000 pounds. The installation of this large-diameter pipe was critical for effective drainage and flood prevention, making this realignment project essential for long-term roadway sustainability.
